Dennis Maxfield Biography

Dennis Maxfield released Albedo Zero in 2001. It is now available as a download. He was a participant in the Artist Residency at Lake Erie College. Maxfield co-founded the Sonic Disturbance International Festival of Sound and was co-creator of the Audio Geomancy Project and Wired Theater. He directed five annual New Music and Sound Art festivals including New Music Across America.



He performed with Anna Homler as Sagar Radai at the Tegentonen and Ti-Foon Festivals in the Netherlands. His music duo THRUNK, performed at Roulette Intermedium in NYC, The Birmingham, Alabama Improv Festival and a U.S. southern tour.



His audio work HOW MANY SAY AMEN with Amy Sparks is featured on the Record Project A/Consonant/Vowel produced by the Cincinnati Artists Group Effort. Newfoundland, a sound collage, was aired on Public Radio as part of the C.A.G.E. Radio Project.
Maxfield has received a NEA Interdisciplinary Grant through Hallwalls Gallery in Buffalo, NY for the Church Bell Performance.



Dennis Maxfield was a featured composer in SPACES Gallery's Ohio Composer Series, Cleveland Ohio. He has also performed at the Wexner Center in Columbus, Ohio, the Cleveland Performance Art Festival, the Sonic Disturbance Festival, the Outpost in Albuquerque, the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe, and the Electronic Café in Los Angeles.



He has performed on many live radio broadcasts throughout the U.S. His released recordings include: Virtual Particles, Offspring of Echoes (CD), Albedo Zero, Offspring of Echoes (CD), Cassandra Complex, Still Life in Rust Belt, Oblong, and Shape of a Crow.
